Andrew Eldridge Financial Services
Originally I began offering VAT and tax services to sole traders in the courier industry. Having worked in the industry from 2001, looking after my own VAT and tax requirements going on to manage a large branch of the biggest same-day courier company in the UK, I recognised there were no VAT and tax services tailored to the self-employed in the sector.
Large accounting firms need to charge much higher rates due to their substantial overheads. Furthermore because of their size they are not able to provide a personalised service that offers advice and support at the end of the phone for any issue, no matter how small.
Unlike us, small accounting concerns are not necessarily in a position to offer free business and VAT registration or free consultation, adding what can be a debilitating start-up expense for many. They are unlikely to have direct knowledge and experience of working within industry.
I began providing bespoke services, being able to offer advice based on my experience within industry and running a business as well as my knowledge of taxation. After gaining clients in the buy-to-let sector I realised that this individualised approach would transpose to all areas of business.
